Let's talk about how to be casual but chic at the same time. Imagine that you want to go for a relaxed walk in the city, for a coffee or for early drinks (something that happens quite often). How to get a casual but yet a chic style that you can keep from the morning till the evening.
It is more than obvious who plays the main role in this outfit!
Finally, after so many years of low-waisted, skinny jeans torture and suffering, good old-fashioned high-waisted jeans are back. The beauty of traditional '80's style jeans is that they focus on every woman's waist and create a much more feminine figure.
High-waisted jeans are a statement piece in an outfit. Try to find some good-quality blue or black jeans and avoid the discolorations or the extremely ripped denim, they are out of fashion!
The great thing about denim is that you can pair it with anything, from a white shirt to a floral one, from sweaters to knitwear. For this look I decided to pair the jeans with a total black outfit. A black jacket and a black narrow shirt. To add a little ''bling'' I added golden jewelry; two long golden necklaces that end just above the waistline.
The bag and the shoes are also black, but the particular texture of the bag, which gives the outfit a sense of luxury. High heeled ankle boots add height to the figure and flatter the legs by elongating them.
Don't forget the importance of the coat for an outfit, especially during winter time! Invest in a good coat that will last a long time and that can be paired with different outfits. For this look the coat takes the role of the colour. It is a beige trench-coat with brown buttons and a classic croisé cut. This cut flatters the waist, as it can be tightened by a belt. It ends just above the knees and it gives the impression of an effortless but yet complete outfit.
Here in Paris the effortless look is a must. Parisian girls use straight minimal lines, simple colours and simple styling with natural tones on hair and make-up. They have mastered the effortless chic.
Maybe you are still afraid to were baggy jeans, but please think about it !! Apart from the fact that they are very comfortable, they are flattering and a good old vintage choice.... So have fun styling them !
